Plant Explorer VR.

An interactive VR plant demonstration built to help a client engage prospective customers.

A valve information panel shows the opening percentage as the visitor turns the handwheel in VR.

About the work.

Plant Explorer VR gives prospective customers a hands-on introduction to an industrial environment. Commissioned as a sales demonstration, it lets visitors explore the plant and try a guided equipment interaction through a VR headset.

Visitors use teleport navigation to move through the pipework and platforms, follow prompts to locate a valve, and turn its handwheel. A nearby information panel shows the opening percentage as they rotate it, with a completion sequence at the end of the task.

What it can do.

Explore the plant

Move through the industrial environment using controller-directed teleport navigation, with pipework, platforms and equipment providing the setting.

  • Headset-scale spatial exploration
  • Controller rays and teleport destinations

Follow the demonstration

A short sequence of prompts introduces the experience and guides the visitor to the valve-operation task.

  • Welcome and location prompts
  • Visitor-controlled progression

Operate the valve

Grab the handwheel and rotate it through two full turns. The information panel updates the opening percentage and the demonstration concludes when the valve reaches 100%.

  • Grab-and-rotate interaction
  • Live percentage feedback
  • Completion sequence

Moving through the plant

A silent headset recording shows the plant surroundings and controller-directed teleport navigation towards the valve.

Turning the valve
